With everyone back to school by now, it’s time to whip out some new recipes to fill those lunch boxes. I get tired of having the same thing for lunch every day, so I have been creating a few fresh new recipes. Sweet and savory Turkey Swiss and Apple Wraps are a filling and delicious lunch that won’t weigh you down or leave an empty hole in your stomach. The tangy and freshly made honey mustard dressing perfectly balances the sweet and crunchy apple slices in every bite.

This simple and healthy recipe is a great way to keep lunch interesting! It is easily packable for work and school lunches, and it is easy to make a big batch of wraps for everyone to enjoy. It travels well and is a great main course for a picnic or a day on the lake!

My Red Onion Rule!

On the left, a thinly sliced red onion in an ice bath. On the right, the red onion is dried on a white towel.

One important tip to remember when making this recipe is to let your red onion soak in a bath of ice water before using! This helps reduce the harshness of the red onion in your wrap. Soak it long enough to assemble the rest of your wrap filling and when you’re ready to add the red onion, just squeeze it dry and toss it into the mix!

Tortillas are a great option for wraps, but if you want a lower carb option try using lavash breads. These flat breads are high in protein, low in carbs and perfect for wraps.

Found your website this morning. Love it! Which apples do you recommend for the turkey Swiss apple wraps? I'm assuming something a bit sweeter and softer than a Granny Smith or Fuji. Maybe a Gala or delicious? I love to leave the skins on my fruit for the extra crunch and vitamins so cooking apples wouldn't work. Which do you prefer? Please email me your best choice. And keep posting delicious foods.
