Cranberry Orange Fruit Leather is a sweet and tart tasty handheld treat that your kids will not only eat, but actually love and is fabulous for using up leftover cranberry sauce!
For years now I’ve been in charge of bringing the cranberry sauce to Thanksgiving dinner. Now I like cranberry sauce and so do some of my other family members, but no matter how much we like it I always end up with leftovers. Always. So I went searching for a fun solution to use it up.
This Cranberry Orange Fruit Leather is a great way to use up leftover cranberry sauce and have your kids actually enjoy eating it! It’s sweet, tart, and fun to eat. My kids won’t touch the cranberry sauce, but they will devour an entire batch of fruit leather in minutes. It’s ridiculously easy to make, taking only 3 ingredients and some patience!
One of the best things about this recipe is that you can use leftover homemade cranberry sauce, whole berry canned cranberry sauce, and even the jellied cranberry sauce that I’ve heard many people refer to as “canberry” sauce. LOL.
Jellied cranberry sauce will make a smoothly textured fruit leather, while whole berry sauce will have more texture in the finished fruit leather because the tiny seeds usually will not blend in.

What Do I need to make Cranberry Orange Fruit Leather?
This recipe is super simple to make and only requires 3 ingredients:
Cranberry sauce
Applesauce
Orange Zest
You’ll also need parchment paper, a half sheet pan, and an immersion blender or blender.
Step by step instructions:
Step 1: Add the cranberry sauce, applesauce and orange zest to a deeper mixing bowl. Using an immersion blender, blend until the cranberry sauce is completely incorporated into the applesauce. Alternately, you can use a blender or a food processor if you don’t have an immersion blender.
Step 2. Line a half sheet pan with parchment paper. Pour the cranberry sauce mixture onto the parchment paper and spread it out as evenly and smoothly as you can
Step 3. Bake in the oven at 170 degrees for 6-8 hours or until a finger gently pressed into the fruit leather does not leave indentations.
Step 4. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely. Using scissors, cut any extra parchment paper away from the fruit leather, and then cut the fruit leather into strips. You can leave the parchment paper on to help prevent the fruit leather from sticking together, or you can remove and roll into individual rolls.
We like to store our homemade fruit leather in the fridge, though this does bring more moisture back into the fruit leather and makes it a bit stickier.
