Okay, I didn’t know until I was testing the recipe for the Caramel Apple Chex Mix, just how easy it was to make seasoned pretzels in the microwave! I don’t know if this was genius, or a big mistake because I haven’t been able to stop making different kinds of pretzels since then. My absolute favorite I’ve come up with are these cinnamon sugar pretzels. They are kind of a copycat of one of my favorite brands, Dot’s Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels. I also have an original Dot’s pretzels copycat recipe too. I love them all, they are just a bit spendy for me.
Homemade Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel bites are sweet, salty, crisp, and crunchy. They’re a great snack for any get together or movie nights on the couch. This quick and easy recipe takes only 10 minutes to make, ensuring an easy cleanup and a quick fix to your cinnamon sugar cravings! They are also a great activity to get your little kids invested in cooking with you in the kitchen.
I tried this recipe several ways, but it worked best by adding just a little bit of corn syrup to the mixture. I’m going to tell you why this is so important. With these pretzels, we’re adding kind of heavy and clumpy ingredients with the cinnamon sugar. Adding just a touch of corn syrup creates a really yummy and effective adhesive for that cinnamon sugar. It locks it into place so that it doesn’t crumble off as much and so you get more evenly coated pretzels! Win win!
