Does your family have a signature dish that everyone loves so much it can be found at every single holiday meal throughout the year? Our family does and this Orange Dream Salad is it! Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter and even the 4th of July you’ll find this fruity delight on our table. Light, creamy and sweet, this dessert salad has a delicious flavor combination of oranges and vanilla and is full of delicious Dole Mandarin oranges and bananas. Everyone goes nuts over it, kids and adults alike!
Who majorly stresses out over the holidays? Me, me, me. I do! I do! I think that holiday stress just kind of comes with the territory of having 4 kids. There’s just so much to do, the shopping, of course, and the Christmas programs at school and church, and then having all the kids home over holiday break all hyped up for the big event, and then there’s just the trying to get it all done in general. For me, and I hate this about myself, this time of year is just a big ball of stress for me.
This is one of the main reasons I love it that our family loves this orange dream salad so much. It’s an absolute breeze to make. You start off by combining 2 packages of tapioca pudding, one package of orange gelatin and three cups of water. Bring this to a boil and then pour it into a serving bowl to cool. Put it in the fridge and put your feet up! That’s seriously the hardest part of this whole thing. After the base has completely chilled and it’s time to serve, you simply fold in one container of whipped topping, one can of Dole Mandarin orange slices, and two sliced bananas. That’s it. It’s ready to go. You can get this salad put together quicker than your kids can put on their shoes and coats and get in the car.
Oh delicious simplicity, I love it when you make an appearance in my life. And I do so love this Orange Dream Salad. It’s got everything you want in a dessert– it’s sweet, but light. Fruity, but indulgent. It’s the kind of dessert that’s nice at the end of a meal because it doesn’t settle like a rock in your stomach. And so good you’ll want to lick the bowl clean!
