Chopped caramels are sprinkled over the pie filling.

Top the apple pie filling with chopped caramels.

Step 4

Spread a package of yellow cake mix over the top.

The 3rd layer of the dump cake is a package of yellow cake mix.

Tip: If you don’t have yellow cake mix on hand, try white cake mix or spice cake mix instead!

Step 5

Pour melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix and then bake it for 45-50 minutes.

I made this recipe for a funeral, only I used the whole bag of caramels to give the recipe more caramel flavor. There were lots of other desserts. However, I had people looking for the person who made this fantastic recipe which disappeared rapidly. I felt like I won the blue ribbon!
