Apple Cinnamon Bars

Apple cinnamon bars are part apple blondie and part gooey cinnamon cake. This no fuss recipe yields a dessert with crispy cinnamon brown sugar edges that enfold a gooey apple pecan center.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped apple
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare a 9 x 13 baking pan with nonstick spray.
  • In a mixing bowl, mix together the melted butter, dark brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, cinnamon and vanilla until smooth.
  • Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until just combined.
  • Stir in the chopped apples and pecans.
  • Spread in the prepared 9x13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and slightly springs back when touched.
  • Allow to cool before cutting.
