- 1 1/2 cups unbleached flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh blackberries
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unbleached flour
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the first four ingredients. Then add the milk, melted butter, egg and vanilla. Mix well, stirring by hand for around 2 minutes or until everything is well blended.
Pour into a greased and floured 10 inch springform pan.
Layer the blackberries over the batter evenly.
Combine the remaining flour and sugar, then stir in the butter until the mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle over the berries.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes or until the top is slightly browned.
