Blackberry Crumb Kuchen

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups unbleached flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unbleached flour
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the first four ingredients. Then add the milk, melted butter, egg and vanilla. Mix well, stirring by hand for around 2 minutes or until everything is well blended.
  • Pour into a greased and floured 10 inch springform pan.
  • Layer the blackberries over the batter evenly.
  • Combine the remaining flour and sugar, then stir in the butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  • Sprinkle over the berries.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes or until the top is slightly browned.
