- 6 bacon strips diced
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups green beans
- 1 ½ cups French fried onions
In a skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove to paper towels; drain, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings.
Saute onion in drippings until tender.
Add the ketchup, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce; cook and stir until mixture comes to a boil.
Add the green beans and bacon pieces and stir to coat.
Transfer the green bean mixture to a greased 1-1/2-qt. baking dish. Top with french fried onions. Cover and bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until bubbling at the edges and the onions have browned.
