Ingredients

  • 6 bacon strips diced
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cups green beans
  • 1 ½ cups French fried onions

Instructions

  • In a skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove to paper towels; drain, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings. 
  • Saute onion in drippings until tender.
  •  Add the ketchup, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce; cook and stir until mixture comes to a boil. 
  • Add the green beans and bacon pieces and stir to coat. 
  • Transfer the green bean mixture to a greased 1-1/2-qt. baking dish. Top with french fried onions. Cover and bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until bubbling at the edges and the onions have browned.
