Swiss and Bacon Loaf

  • 1/2 cup butter , softened to room temperature
  • 2 Tablespoons horseradish mustard
  • 4 green onions , thinly sliced
  • 1 Tablespoon , plus 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1 16 ounce loaf French bread
  • 6 slices bacon , cooked and crumbled
  • 8 ounces Swiss cheese , sliced


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Stir together the softened butter, mustard, green onions and poppy seeds.
  3. Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and spread the butter mixture over the bottom half. Sprinkle the bacon over the butter mixture and top with sliced Swiss cheese. Replace the top half of the loaf and tightly wrap the loaf in heavy duty aluminum foil.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until the loaf is heated through and the cheese is melted inside.
