Ground beef, italian sausage, and veggies are combined with pizza sauce and topped with provolone cheese for an easy twist on the classic sloppy joe sandwich.
In a large saute pan brown the ground beef and italian sausage with the onion, garlic and green pepper. Break apart the meat into crumbles as it cooks.
Drain the fat from the meat and return to the skillet. Add the pizza sauce, black olives, and sugar. Simmer covered in the pan for 15 minutes.
Serve on buns with sliced provolone cheese. You can place the assembled sloppy joes, without the bun tops, on a baking sheet under the broiler for a few minutes to melt the provolone cheese before serving, if desired.
