Triple Berry Chocolate Chip Cookies

Does it make me a horrible parent if I tell the entire internet my kids have been driving me nuts lately? Because they have. I say this as my youngest son stands right next to me with a butter knife, trying to break his tablet out of the protective case I put on it. It’s not a great plan and I’m not in favor of it, but  I’m not telling him to stop because there’s only 3 minutes until bedtime and I know that he won’t be able to pry it off in that amount of time. At this point, it’s just keeping him occupied.

My oldest son has talked non-stop since he got home. Seriously, no breaks. He even talked the entire time while he mowed the yard. And to top off the evening someone knocked my new KitchenAid stock pot off the kitchen island and dented it. My pretty pot and now the lid won’t even fit. So sad. No one has been naughty or even really very bratty. It’s just been one of those days.

Triple Berry Chocolate Chip Cookies

It’s a triple berry chocolate chip oatmeal cookie kind of day.

The kind of day where I’d love to make everyone happy and get along  if I could, but if I’m being honest, it would mostly be for my own selfish reasons.

I made these triple berry chocolate chip oatmeal cookies for my kids the other day. Truth be told it was in an attempt to soothe the beasts. You see I’ve got 2 kids that love oatmeal raisin cookies and say that I never make them. But then my other 2 kids mope when I do make oatmeal raisin because they don’t like them. So I had the bright idea that I would put in some of everyone’s favorite flavors into the oatmeal cookies and everyone would be happy. And my name would go down in history as one of the most awesome mothers ever.

I’m sure you’ve already guessed how that turned out? LOL. Yeah, there’s no way to make everyone happy. However, my husband and I loved them. The cookies. And the kids. Even when they have driven me past the point of crazy.

This recipe makes about 5 dozen cookies, which I love. It means a big enough batch that there are plenty to have around, plus some to freeze for later. You just never know when you’re going to need to pull emergency cookies from the freezer. Perhaps on a day when the kids are driving you crazy? 🙂
